Currently in March

Hello :)  I am so excited to be linking up with Farley for a "Currently".  I have read so many of these and am excited to add my first one to the mix!

Listening:  Of Monsters and Men in iTunes.  They are a fun band to listen to.  Do you like them?

Loving:  I got an amazing call today from dear friends of ours who just adopted.  They went to Ashland (they live in Portland) this past Wednesday because their baby boy Will was born.  It was a last minute placement and now they are home with their beautiful baby.  I can't wait to go and meet him and give them a warm hug.  They are so blessed!

Thinking:  Report Card Assessments.  Are you with me????  This time of year is crazy!!!  Kindergarten is mostly one:one assessments and this time of year is not my favorite.  But, I am excited to see their growth on paper!

Wanting: My husband and I are in an adoption pool and today stirred up a lot of feelings.  While we are so happy for our friends who just adopted (and my sister-in-law who just announced she is pregnant, and my husband's colleague who did the same), we are ready to start our family and have a sweet little baby of our own!  I didn't mean to get so "serious" in this blog post, but, this is "Currently" what I/we am/are wanting.

Needing:  Time!!!  I have so many things I want to do and just can't fit it all in.

Spring Break Plans: My husband is presenting at the American Chemical Society.  My brothers and their families live in Denver.  It will be a fun mix of business and pleasure.  I hope to see some snow since Oregon has decided to go into an early spring!

Happy March everyone!

  2. I'm right there with you on the whole needing time thing! There just aren't enough hours in the day sometimes. Denver is incredible and I am definitely envious of your trip. Best wishes on the adoption - from what I have heard, it can be a very long but ultimately rewarding process :)

    1. Hi Paige. I know. I run out of time everyday! I haven't explored Denver too much so I am looking forward to it. Our adoption process is longer than we'd hoped for - hoping we become parents soon! Thanks :) Suzanne

  4. That is so awesome for your friends!!! I will be so excited for you and your husband as well! I think it is awesome what you are doing and also the patience you are showing as you work through the process. That's amazing. March is a crazy month in school! Report cards, conferences.... I think when Spring Break arrives I may sleep the first day through - ha!

    1. Hi Alex! It is incredibly exciting for our friends. What an amazing feeling to get "the call" and now be parents! I am trying to be patient.............but it is hard. "The Wait" is hard.
I agree - March is wild. Report card testing season is not my favorite time of year, but I am loving the growth I am seeing. We have spring break right after conferences. It will be here before we both know it!

  5. I just finished up testing and report cards so I totally understand where you're at. I would be pulling my hair out if it weren't for ESGI. I am happy for your friends, but see how that also would be difficult for you and your husband. I will be sending prayers your way that you will be at peace while you are waiting to receive your bundle of joy. Have fun during your trip to Denver. Super cute blog!

  6. Hi Laura! Thanks so much for stopping by! I have heard about ESGI. It sounds pretty interesting. Do you use this district wide, or is this something you have for your own classroom? Thanks so much for your kind words and prayers. I truly appreciate it.
